1. Nozzle Maintenance

As is widely known, nozzle maintenance is the most important and fundamental aspect of crystal label printer care. Poor nozzle maintenance can lead to subpar print quality at best, or complete nozzle failure requiring replacement at worst. So how should nozzles be properly maintained?

1. When installing the nozzle, apply specialized adhesive tape over the two-side wiring to prevent water ingress through the wiring ports, which could cause short circuits and damage the nozzle. This detail is crucial.

2. Clean the nozzle with cleaning solution and print a test strip every time you power on or off the machine to check the nozzle condition.

3. Before shutting down at the end of each workday, move the print carriage to the left side and wipe the nozzle surface with a dedicated cloth to remove ink residue and keep it clean.

4. If the nozzle remains unused for an extended period, use a moisturizing solution to maintain its hydration, and ensure printing occurs twice weekly.

5. During holidays such as National Day or Spring Festival, perform internal nozzle cleaning and maintenance under professional guidance.

2. Ink Pad Maintenance

1. From the moment an Epson printhead starts using ink, it must remain consistently moist and never dry out. Therefore, the ink pad is an essential companion to the printhead, providing a sealed and humid environment to maintain its condition.

2. However, over time, the sponge inside the ink pad can accumulate ink residue, which may impair the effectiveness of ink suction during printhead cleaning. It is recommended to clean the ink pad monthly with a dedicated cleaning solution. If performance remains unsatisfactory after cleaning, replace the ink pad.

3. Additionally, after each workday, wipe the rubber seal around the ink pad thoroughly to ensure proper sealing.

3. Wiper Blade Maintenance

The wiper blade removes excess ink from the printhead during cleaning. Over time, ink residue may build up on the blade surface. Use a lubricant to wipe off any accumulated ink, as excessive ink can corrode the blade. Clean the blade thoroughly before turning off the machine each day.

If the wiper blade becomes bent or curled, it should be replaced immediately.

Waste ink generated during printing is discharged through the waste ink tube. When the machine is not in use, clamp the waste ink tube securely and position it properly to prevent ink from drying and clogging the tubing.
